Used the 3000 on a recent Striper trip. My limit was six striper to keep. However I hooked and released many more. The reel performed very well. Now these small Striper never tested the capability of the reel. But it casted, retrieved and performed flawlessly. The boat took heavy spray and the reel never missed a beat. I’m very pleased. Have the other $$$$$ reels and have no regrets buying the Salt II with the awesome armor coating. Looks great.

Definitely love the reel, the 3000 series is perfect for the surf fishing I do targeting those hard fighting stripers! Smooth casting, strong retrieve and solid drag all make landing 30 inch plus fish more successful.

Absolutely love mine. Got the 3000. Perfect for my 7-23g major craft triple cross.
This reel is quality right out of the box!! Its drag is super smooth - catching Reds and Jacks it was unfazed - the finish seems like it’s going to stay solid for years to come! Get this reel - you deserve it!
