Good quality rod, was packed really well for shipping
Have not been able to hit the surf yet had a work injury and layed up for now . Reel mounted and ready to hit surf will be chasing halibut. Can't wait.
This rod performs better than expensive rods. It's light, cast extremely well, very responsive and a lot of backbone to fight fish. I put my expensive rods to the side and being fishing this one the whole season. I'm getting a second one before Tsunami decides to take it out of the market, or increase the price.
I have used this rod the last couple of weeks fishing with it and I got say it is Very Light Weight, Balanced Well when paired with a Shimano Saragosa 5K or 6K, Penn Sargus 5K, Has lots of backbone when you need it, This is my all around Surf Rod! I will be buying another Tsunami Rod!! Excellent Quality Rod.
i was using this rod for the 3 times i went to the ocean but when i returned home i broke it by closing the back trunk door in the suv. i was super sad, getting a new one soon.
Caught my one and only 50 stripped bass off the inlet on this stick. I can easily throw 3/4 through 4 oz bucktails. Total workhorse here in the northeast. From Jones inlet all the way to fishing under the light. I use this 90% of my season. Priced well enough so that you dont need to baby it. I work the heck out of this stick and it hasn't let me down. I paired it with a VS 200 with 30 lb braid , perfect combo.
For the small price of $100 this is arguably the nicest rod you will find. Don't listen to Dongkeun! strong backbone with the 70/30 split makes this rod perform as one piece would. After years of experience on the rough northeast surf I have experimented with plenty of different rods. I now only use tsunami rods. The trophy 2 is one of my cheapest rods in the collection, but one of my favorites! Buy it Dongkeun is spreading misinformation you should trust me.
