Just received it a couple of days ago, used it twice, its built strong, reels smooth and good casting distance. So far so good. I'll move up to the 5000 if I can get a good discount.
Some of the best costumes service ever had a problem with my old shield 2 and they completely replaced it with the new and improved shield 2 that I absolutely love and is way better then the old one
Reel was making noise like it had a bad bearing - it happens - was sent a replacement without a hassle - great customer care - back at it trying for early season Hali’s - great combo - light and solid action - highly recommend value buy
Amazing reel extremely light and well balanced on my Tsunami Shield! Hisnis second Tsunami Shield 2 i have….a 4000 and this 5000 simple rinse after each trip ready to go! Landed several 40+ striped bass with ease! Wish my arms and shoulders were so smooth!

I have been a Tsunami customer for about 15 or more years. Started with Classic rod and than Shield reels another rod and the stuff doesn't disappoint. I have 4 rods and 7 reels from the original shield to new shield 2 and 2 evict reels. Have had 2 old ones repaired one time and received great service. I retired to Florida 3 years ago and fish with these 5 times a week. Customer for life.

I really like the reel. It's smooth and strong. The material it's made from is very well crafted.
After I opened the package and put the handle on I noticed right away how smooth it was. Love the bail locking shock. It looks and fells amazing. I will be using as soon as I go on vacation. Will leave another review after my vacation

I had an issue with the reel when it arrived . Contacted Tsunami customer service and problem was resolved promptly. Reel works excellent. I fish almost every day in florida and have 3 shield reels ,2 evict reels and 2 shield 11 rods. I cast 1oz spoons with them in an inlet with heavy current. The setups are light and perform excellent. Thanks Tsunami.
I've fished my Tsunami Shield II 3000 for a few months and I love it - great quality build, sealed well for saltwater fishing, lightweight, strong and smooth! I like it so much I bought this second one. I highly recommend it - its an exceptionally good value.
Only used it a couple of times but it is very smooth and seems well built.

Love the reels it's smooth and the drag was strong enough to trun a 23 lbs bass in a hard running tide. The price on this reel is best price on any reel in its class . I can't wait until spring to really put a beating on it .
I used the 5000 reel this weekend, the drag is smooth as butter on it. I caught a Striper and the drag is amazing! Casting was also great with this reel, there is a rotor brake on the 5000/6000 reels, which means when you cast the bail stays open until you close it. No more losing expensive plugs! Overall, for $175, you can not beat the quality, price and attention to detail that Tsunami puts in their products. This was my first time using a Tsunami reel, paired with my Trophy II rod…what an amazing combo!
